What We’ve Noticed Since Bringing Fulfilment In-House

What We’ve Noticed Since Bringing Fulfilment In-House

What we’re seeing more clearly now

Over the past couple of months, we’ve been packing and sending every order ourselves from Sydney.

It wasn’t something we did for insight.

But it has given us a clearer sense of what happens after that first purchase, not through feedback or reviews, but through how people come back.

And that has been more consistent than we expected.

When people search for enlighten me shakes reviews, they’re usually trying to work out whether this is actually going to work for them, in real life.

How most people begin

Most people start with one bag.

It’s a simple way to try something new without overcommitting, but more importantly, to see how it actually feels day to day.

For many, especially those who have had issues with other products in the past, that first step isn’t really about results.

It’s about whether it feels okay to have.

Whether it sits comfortably.

Whether it’s something they can see themselves continuing.

When people decide to continue

If that initial experience feels manageable, people tend to come back fairly quickly.

Often within 5 to 7 days.

By that point, they’ve had enough of it to know whether it fits into their routine, and whether it agrees with them.

The second order usually reflects that shift.

Sometimes it’s both flavours, to explore preference.
Sometimes they move straight to a bundle so they don’t run out.

There’s still thought behind it, but less hesitation.

When it becomes part of a routine

From there, things tend to settle into a rhythm.

What starts as one bag often becomes two, and then larger orders over time.

A pattern we often see looks something like 1, 2, 6, 6, 6, ...

We frequently see customers ordering six at a time, which equates to 42 serves.

At that point, it’s no longer something they’re trying.

It’s something they’re using.

Something that has found a place in their routine without needing much thought.

Why this tends to happen

Many people who come to us aren’t looking for something new.

They’re trying to find something that doesn’t cause the same issues they’ve experienced before.

So the starting point is cautious.

But when something feels easy to have, and doesn’t disrupt how they feel, the decision to continue becomes much simpler.

Not forced, just straightforward.

What we don’t always see in reviews

Reviews can be helpful, but they capture a single moment.

What tends to matter more is what happens after that.

Do people come back?
How quickly?
And whether they continue.

Those patterns tend to give a more complete picture.

When it’s sent to someone else

One of the more meaningful things we’ve noticed is when a returning customer places an order with a different shipping address, and then lets us know it’s intentional.

They’re sending it to someone else.

Sometimes a friend who has just started weight loss medications and is struggling with appetite.
Sometimes a family member going through treatment.
Sometimes simply someone they care about.

That shift, from using something yourself to sharing it, tends to happen when people feel confident in it.

A pattern that feels familiar

None of this is something we’ve tried to shape.

But it has been consistent.

Most people begin with one, just to see how it goes.

And for many, it becomes something they come back to, because it fits easily enough to continue.

If you’re still deciding

If you’re trying to work out whether to try it, you’re not alone in that.

Most people start in a very similar place.

With one bag.

Just to see how it feels.

Closing reflection

There’s no need to decide everything upfront.

Often, it’s simply about finding something that feels manageable enough to continue, and letting that build from there.
