At Enlighten Me, we believe in the power of community, and the importance of giving back.
This year, we are proud to support Smiles2U, a remarkable charity based in Sydney that is dedicated to bringing care and comfort to children, and their parents and carers in our local hospitals.
About Smiles2U
North Shore Mums Smiles2U is an entirely voluntary charity organisation, with a mission to provide carefully curated care packages to individuals who find themselves in hospitals unexpectedly, offering a bit of comfort during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Smiles2U supports 15 local hospitals, including Royal North Shore Hospital, WISE Specialist Emergency Clinic, Macquarie University Hospital (Oncology Ward), Ryde Hospital, The Sydney Adventist Hospital, Hornsby Hospital, Westmead Children's Hospital, and more.
Our Contribution
Enlighten Me is thrilled to have contributed to the Smiles2U Auction in two significant ways:
- Donating mini programs: We have donated our mini programs, designed to help individuals navigate the complex world of weight loss, providing valuable information on medications, weight loss surgeries, and lifestyle choices. By offering these programs, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health.
- Sponsoring the Auction: In addition to our program donations, we have also sponsored the Smiles2U Auction, which helps Smiles2U reach their fundraising goals, ensuring they can continue to provide essential support and comfort to those in need within our community.
A Personal Connection
As the Founder of Enlighten Me and a General Practitioner, Dr. Angela has witnessed firsthand the struggles that loved ones experience during an unexpected hospital stay. During her time working in hospitals, she saw just how challenging and stressful these situations could be for patients and their families. These experiences inspired her to choose Smiles2U as a charity to support. She wanted to give back to the community, in any way that she could, to make their time just that little bit more comfortable, with care and a smile, even if she could not necessarily be by their bedside as the treating doctor.
