We are proud to share that our Founder, Dr Angela Kwong, has been named on the 2026 B&T Women Leading Tech Power List.
Presented by B&T, this annual list highlights nearly 1,000 women across Australia and New Zealand who are shaping the future of technology, digital innovation and business.
To be included amongst this group is both humbling and significant.
Because this recognition is not simply about an award.
It is about women leading technological progress across industries - redefining how systems are built and delivered.
In this case, that progress is being applied to healthcare.
What Does "Leading Tech" Mean in Healthcare?
When many people think of technology in healthcare, they picture AI scribes or apps.
But technology in healthcare is also about integration.
Increasing accessibility.
Growing with intention.
It is about rethinking how care is delivered so that patients are not navigating fragmented services, inconsistent advice, or short-term solutions.
Modern health technology is about building models that connect disciplines - in this case, General Practice, Nutrition and Exercise Physiology - while providing education and empowering a community in a way that is cohesive, evidence-based and patient-centred.
This is the space Enlighten Me was built to operate in.
Building a Doctor-Led HealthTech Ecosystem
Enlighten Me began with a simple observation.
Patients navigating weight management often felt alone, confused or unsupported.
As a GP with a special interest in obesity management, Dr Angela saw firsthand the gaps between medical advice, nutrition guidance, exercise prescription and long-term support.
So we built something different.
A medically led, multidisciplinary digital program integrating:
- Medical education
- Practical nutrition advice
- Accessible exercise classes
- Evidence-based lifestyle frameworks
Alongside this holistic care model, we developed the Enlighten Me Shakes - clinically formulated to support metabolic health, protect muscle mass and nourish the body during medically supervised weight management.
The result is not simply a clinic. Or a product.
But an ecosystem.
One that spans digital care, pharmacy partnerships, clinician education and community support.
From Finalist to Power List
In 2025, Dr Angela was named a Finalist for the Entrepreneur / Founder Award at the Women Leading Tech Awards.
Her inclusion on the 2026 B&T Women Leading Tech Power List reflects continued momentum - and recognition that health innovation sits firmly within Australia's broader technology landscape.
It reinforces something we deeply believe.
Healthcare has the ability to evolve digitally with integrity.
Integrate intentionally.
And scale with care - without losing compassion or patient-centred values.
Why This Matters
Weight management is, unfortunately, often highly stigmatised and misunderstood.
Too frequently, it is framed as a personal failure - reduced to willpower or discipline alone.
Yet obesity is recognised as a chronic disease, shaped by complex biological, hormonal, genetic and environmental influences.
This complexity deserves systems of care that reflect it.
Not fragmented advice.
Not oversimplified solutions.
But integrated, multidisciplinary models that support long-term metabolic health.
Thoughtful health technology allows us to improve access, strengthen continuity and reduce stigma - while maintaining high clinical standards.
Recognition from B&T affirms that this work forms part of a wider national conversation about how technology can be applied responsibly across industries, including healthcare.
Continuing the Conversation
Recognition is meaningful.
But progress requires collaboration.
Dr Angela Kwong will be speaking at the upcoming Digital Health Festival at Melbourne's Convention and Exhibition Centre on 20-21 May 2026, where she will join industry leaders to discuss Digital Health Careers for Doctors.
She looks forward to connecting with colleagues to explore the future of digitally integrated care, the power of multidisciplinary collaboration, and how we can responsibly scale health technology while maintaining patient-centred care.
Because evolving healthcare is not a solo effort.
It requires clinicians, innovators, pharmacists, researchers and industry partners working together with intention.
