Dr. Angela Kwong named Finalist for the Entrepreneur / Founder Award at the Women Leading Tech Awards 2025

We are thrilled to share some exciting news — our Founder, Dr. Angela Kwong, has been named a Finalist for the Entrepreneur / Founder Award at the Women Leading Tech Awards 2025, presented by Atlassian!

Recognising Innovation & Leadership in Technology

The Women Leading Tech Awards celebrate the very best in the tech industry, highlighting women who are breaking barriers, driving innovation, and shaping the future.

This initiative was created to support gender parity and representation across the tech industry, welcoming non-binary and gender-diverse individuals as well. 

This year, the awards have introduced five new categories—AI Pioneer, Ecommerce, Developer, Recruiter, and The Women Leading Tech Award for Society—reflecting the evolving nature of technology.

Amongst these prestigious categories, the Entrepreneur / Founder Award recognises women leading technology, digital, or ecommerce startups that have been in business for five years or fewer.

What This Means for Enlighten Me

Dr. Angela Kwong launched Enlighten Me to revolutionise weight management through a medically supervised, multidisciplinary program. As a General Practitioner, she saw firsthand the struggles many faced when trying to lose weight, often without the right medical guidance or long-term strategies.

She took a bold step to change that, creating an accessible online program that integrates General Practice consultations, Nutritionist-led education, and Exercise Physiologist-led group sessions—all designed to empower individuals with sustainable, evidence-based weight management solutions.

The Entrepreneur / Founder Award recognises leaders who demonstrate exceptional innovation, business growth, and the potential to scale sustainably. Being named a Finalist acknowledges Dr. Kwong’s vision, strategic leadership, and ability to navigate the dynamic business environment of health tech.

Looking to the Future Dr. Kwong’s mission is not just about improving weight but transforming lives. This recognition fuels her passion to continue expanding Enlighten Me’s reach, breaking down traditional barriers to weight management, and advocating for evidence-based, patient-centred care.

Her goal is to grow Enlighten Me to improve accessibility, helping more individuals achieve long-term health and wellbeing.

The winner will be announced at the Women Leading Tech Awards ceremony, a night dedicated to celebrating empowerment, inclusion, and game-changing leadership in technology.

Regardless of the outcome, this achievement is a testament to the impact Enlighten Me is making in the industry.
