Medical weight management, with a clear plan for what to do next
A GP-led assessment to help you understand what is contributing to your weight changes, what options are appropriate, and how to move forward with structure and support.
When progress feels harder than it should
Many people reach a point where their usual approaches no longer lead to meaningful or sustainable change.
This is often influenced by a combination of factors - including appetite regulation, hormones, metabolism, sleep, and life stage.
Decisions are then made in isolation - whether that is starting medication without a full assessment, or trying to adjust nutrition and lifestyle without clear guidance.
This approach is designed to change that.
A medical assessment provides a clear understanding of what is contributing - so your next steps are targeted, realistic, and supported from the beginning.
A structured starting point that combines medical clarity with practical support
-
A comprehensive medical review
A detailed review of your health history, weight journey, and contributing factors - including where appropriate, medical considerations and investigations.
-
A clear, personalised plan
Clear next steps tailored to you - including whether medication may be appropriate and how to approach nutrition, movement, and ongoing care.
-
Support to put your plan into practice
You receive 30 days of structured support across nutrition, exercise, and education - helping you apply your plan with guidance, rather than navigating it alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Weight Management Assessment include?
The Medical Weight Management Assessment is a 20 minute GP telehealth consultation focused on weight and metabolic health.
During the consultation, we take a detailed look at your weight history, previous weight loss experiences, current medications and any health factors that may be contributing to weight changes.
If you have recent investigations, these can be reviewed. Where appropriate, a pathology referral can also be arranged.
Following the consultation, you will receive a written summary outlining the key discussion points and potential next steps. This can be helpful for your own reflection or to share with your healthcare team.
Will medication be part of my plan?
Treatment recommendations are individualised and based on your medical history, clinical assessment and available investigations.
For some patients, medication may be appropriate and can be discussed during the consultation. In certain situations, this may be initiated during the appointment if there is sufficient information to do so safely. In other cases, further information such as blood tests or additional assessment may be recommended before making treatment decisions.
The focus of the consultation is not simply prescribing, but understanding the factors contributing to weight changes and developing a safe, considered and sustainable plan.
Do I need to have blood tests before booking?
You do not need to arrange blood tests before your first appointment.
If you have had recent blood tests, you are welcome to bring copies to your consultation so they can be reviewed together. This may reduce the need for additional testing.
If further investigations are helpful, a pathology referral can be arranged during the consultation.
Are Medicare or private health insurance rebates available?
This service is offered as a private consultation and does not attract Medicare or private health insurance rebates.
What happens after the Assessment?
Following your consultation, you will receive a written summary outlining your plan and next steps.
Many patients choose to continue their care with their regular GP or healthcare team, using this assessment as a structured starting point.
If ongoing support through Enlighten Me is appropriate, follow up appointments are available as 20 minute telehealth consultations with:
- Our GPs β $157.50
- Our Dietitian β $110
- Our Exercise Physiologist β $110
These can be booked on an as needed basis for ongoing monitoring and support.
Does this replace my regular GP?
No. This service is designed to complement your existing healthcare, not replace your regular GP.
You are encouraged to continue care with your usual healthcare providers. A clinical handover can be provided to support continuity of care where helpful.
This consultation is focused specifically on medical weight management. For other health concerns, ongoing care with your regular GP is recommended.
Can I use this service if I live overseas?
At this time, the Medical Weight Management Assessment is available only to individuals located within Australia.
I am a doctor, GP or health professional - can I refer or book?
We welcome referrals for patients requiring support. As a GP led service, referrals are appreciated but not required, and can be sent to info@enlightenme.com.au or via fax to (02) 8056 1001.
Doctors, GPs and health professionals are also welcome to book this service for their own care.
I have other questions
If you have other questions about the service, please contact us at info@enlightenme.com.au or via the Live Chat.
Please note that we are unable to provide individual clinical advice outside of a booked consultation.
You donβt need to have everything figured out before booking.
This assessment is designed to give you a clear starting point - so you can understand what is contributing, what your options are, and what to do next.
From there, you can decide how you would like to move forward - whether that is ongoing care with our team, or continuing with your regular GP or healthcare providers.
