While recognition is always appreciated, moments like this naturally invite reflection. Not just on how far weβve come, but on how and why this all began.

What made this recognition particularly meaningful was the context in which it was given.
With over 8,500 businesses registered in the 2026 program, we were told that our achievements truly stood out - a testament to our contribution and excellence within the Health Food Business category.
As shared in the official media release:

Recognition like this is always appreciated - but what resonated most was the acknowledgement of community.
Because that is exactly how this journey has grown.

It Started With What We Were Seeing Every Day
Dr Angela often reflects that theΒ Enlighten Me ShakesΒ were never created to be a 'product'.
They were created in response to something we were seeing every day in our clinic.
Patients using GLP-1 medications were navigating a very real set of challenges - reduced appetite, alongside gastrointestinal side effects such as bloating, nausea and general gut discomfort. Eating enough became difficult, and for many, protein intake was often the first thing to fall away.
Over time, it became clear that this wasnβt an occasional issue. It was a consistent pattern.
One that needed a practical, thoughtful solution.
So we worked alongside our patients to create something that would meet them where they were - something simple, gentle, and clinically appropriate.
A low FODMAP, high-protein meal replacement shake designed not just for nutrition - but one that would both tolerated and enjoyed.

What We Thought It Would Be
At the beginning, this was intended to be a small, supportive solution for the people we knew and cared for.
A simple tool to help our patients navigate a very specific challenge within their weight management journey.
Nothing more, and nothing beyond that.

What followed, however, unfolded quite differently.
Within just seven months of launch, we were honoured to be named finalists in the 2025 awards, and our first batch sold out quickly.
What stood out to us wasnβt just the speed of that initial uptake, but the consistency that followed.
Customers werenβt just trying our shakes - they were incorporating them into their daily routines. Many returned for larger bundles, shared them with friends and family, and spoke about how easily the shakes fit into their day.
Over time, something even more meaningful began to happen.
People started advocating for the product themselves.
We began hearing from customers who had walked into their local pharmacies and asked for the shakes by name. Through these conversations, our network ofΒ StockistsΒ grew organically, shaped not by strategy, but by genuine experience.

The People We Didnβt Expect To Reach
As the weeks went on, our inbox filled with messages from people well beyond the original group we had designed the shakes for.
Each message told a slightly different story.
We heard from athletes who had spent years trying different protein powders, only to experience ongoing bloating and discomfort, and who were relieved to finally find a gut-friendly, high-protein option that felt easier on their system.
We heard from women navigating perimenopause and menopause, looking for a convenient way to meet their protein needs during busy days, and finding that the shakes that finally made that possible.
We also heard from patients living with diabetes, whose GPs had begun recommending the shakes as a low sugar meal replacement option that wasnβt overly sweet, and that could be used consistently.
These stories were varied, but they pointed to the same underlying theme.
When something is designed with care, and grounded in a real clinical need, its relevance often extends far beyond the original intention.

What This Taught Us As A Team
This journey has been one of growth, both practically and philosophically.
As a team, weβve had to learn quickly how to support a broader community, while staying true to the clinical integrity that guided the original formulation.
Along the way, a few key lessons have stood out:

- Tolerance matters just as much as nutritional profile
- Listening closely to patients leads to better outcomes than assumption
- Organic growth requires thoughtful infrastructure to support it
And on a very practical level, weβve also learnt just how important it is to plan ahead when something becomes part of a daily routine for many people.

In response to this growth, weβve made the decision to move into our own warehouse early this year.
This step is less about expansion it's own sake, and more about creating the right foundations for what comes next.
We want to ensure that as we grow, we continue to deliver with consistency, care, and intention.
